During the Intifada, the popular Palestinian uprising in the territories, the state of Israel hastily erected improvised prison facilities to deal with the mass arrests. Over 10 years, tens of thousands of Palestinians passed through these facilities called "Ansar". We hold rare footage from within the prison facility taken in 1990 by an Israeli reserve soldier using his private camera. Now, years after the Ansar facilities have been dismantled and the Oslo Accords signed, the film seeks those individuals who were prisoners a short while ago and now are citizens of the Palestinian Authority. Some of these individuals have joined the Palestinian police, others joined the ranks of "Hamas" and yet others are pace keeping citizens. |
