In the past, Nahal settlements were common in Israel.

The Nahal force - pioneer combatant youth - established these settlements which were military kibbutz entities.

As the ideal of the kibbutz withered away in Israeli society, the Nahal force lost its identity and distinction.

Maskiyot is one of the few settlements remaining, and the film brings its story and the story of the soldiers still clinging to the dream of the kibbutz.
