ONE OUT OF 20
(1996, 52min)

A rare first glimpse at the IDF's elite paratrooper unit. The film tells the exciting story of the selection of these brave young men - the ultimate test of manhood.

The film follows a group of 20 privates who only yesterday were teenagers.

Each one of these young fighters dreams to combatant in the prestigious unit. Throughout the selection they will reach the limits of both their physical and mental abilities, only one of them will reach the goal of joining the unit.

Making the selection is lieutenant Nadav Sela's (the group commander) last military assignment. He will be released from his army service at the end of the selection, and is planning a trip to South America and culinary studies in Paris. Shortly before fulfilling his dream he searches for his follower amongst the privates who are crawling in a filed of thorns near the mythological sheque's grave which overlooks Sanur - the basic training camp of paratrooper privates in the Occupied Territories.

The film conceals a somewhat surprising ending. The one who is chosen from amongst all the Israelis is an American, a son of two Israelis who left the country in the 70's for the Silicon Valley in California.
