TUBA & MIGDAL (1998, 45min)

The film brings to screen an encounter between groups situated on the margins of Israeli society: the soccer team of the Bedouin village Zangaria and the team of the development town Migdal HaEmek.

The film documents the preparations for the game that will determine the face of the lower league, at the end of which the winning team will ascend to the higher league.

The Bedouins team is detested by the Arabs who consider Bedouins to be traitors because of their service in the IDF, while Jews see them as Arab terrorists.

The encounter between the two teams was thus very emotionally charged, both with the suspense stemming from the sporting event and with feelings of nationalism.
